About Bridget Cucksey

Welcome to the about page of Bridget Cucksey, a passionate, Tech-savvy freelance designer

I’m Bridget — a web designer and digital strategist based in Embrun, Ontario, and the founder of Pink Poppy Parlor Inc., a creative studio that helps small businesses across Canada create smart, well-designed websites, logos and marketing materials.

With a background in the Canadian Forces tech sector, where I served for 16 years, I bring a rare blend of technical precision, creative thinking, and structured problem-solving to every project. I spent my military career working in communications and IT, including a deployment to Afghanistan, and to Alert — the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world, located in Nunavut, Canada. These experiences shaped how I handle complexity, timelines, and getting the job done right. — experiences that shaped how I handle complexity, timelines, and getting the job done right.

Practical Design, Built for Real Businesses

After transitioning from the military, I pivoted back into the world of design combining my tech skills with a passion for design, branding, and visibility. I now work with startups, service-based professionals, and growing businesses who want clean, custom-built websites and strong visual identities.

At Pink Poppy Parlor, my process is thorough but approachable. I dig into deep into research, test layouts, and refine concepts until it aligns with your  goals. I use tools like WordPress, Procreate, and Affinity Designer to create branding, websites, and marketing materials that stand out without overcomplicating things.

Whether you’re launching your first business or refreshing your existing brand, get in touch to start your project.

A Bit More About Me

Outside of work, I’ve climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, traveled to the southernmost tip of South America, and continue to explore the world through art and photography.

Locally, I stay involved by supporting community projects at the Abundance Garden and volunteering with the art program at Euphie D’ici, helping emerging artists gain exposure in our region.

These experiences keep me grounded, creative, and connected — qualities that influence how I approach design with empathy, attention to detail, and a focus on building meaningful client relationships. — all things I bring into my design work as well.

Veteran's Business Boot Camp Certified
By The Canadian Legacy Project

I’m proud to announce that Pink Poppy Parlor Inc. has been officially certified by the Canadian Legacy Project’s Business Bootcamp. This certification is especially meaningful to me, as I was hired by the Canadian Legacy Project shortly after completing the program. Together, we shared a powerful vision of simplifying access to vital resources for veterans. Through my work with them, I was able to make a direct impact on enhancing the availability of support for those who have served, while also furthering my passion for helping businesses grow.
